Kate Westhoven, PsyDDr. Kate Westhoven received her Doctorate in Psychology from The George Washington University. She is Licensed to Practice Psychology in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Kate has a wide range of clinical experiences and has provided psychological services in multiple environments to include outpatient, inpatient, and substance abuse recovery settings. She has provided short and long-term individual psychotherapy, couple counseling, and group therapy to adults and adolescents with presenting concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, difficulties with adjustment, grief, and bereavement. She has also worked with individuals living with chronic and severe mental illnesses.

Kate focuses on the strengths of individuals in order to facilitate their ability to make positive and effective changes in their lives. Through a collaborative relationship with her clients, she aims to create a safe space in which individuals and couples can increase their insight and coping strategies, grieve losses, process traumas, and increase their overall well-being.
